In this movie, let's look at some of the Table Formatting Options we have. Now formatting is the style or the look of items. We can change it to have a background color, we can change the text to be bold, those are different formatting options. Now when you add formatting options to a table, there's a certain order of precedence. For example if I set the whole color for the table to be yellow, then I select this cell, and I make it red, that cell is going to be red and the whole rest of the tables going to be yellow. The cell format is taking precedence over the table formatting. So basically your order of precedence is cells, then rows, then tables. So anything you apply to a cell is going to override what is applied to that row or that table. Let's take a look at our options. Of course we can re-size our table, sometimes you want to format to make it look a little bit differently with just re-sizing. We will do that a little bit more in our next movie, and we can do that to our inside table also. But let's select our table, and let's go up to Table Properties first. Notice we have an Alignment for our Table, do we want it at the left of our page, the center, or the right? How many pixels for our width do we want, or do we want a percentage for the width? I could change that, may not change a whole lot because my picture's taking up a little space there. So I'm going to select that and take it out for now, so we can work a little bit more with our table. Let's go back to Table Properties, got that 450 pixels now. Border thickness, we could bring that down to one, and then let's bring it down to zero, so you can see that. See these dotted lines? Those are there for our view but their actually not viewable on the web. I'm going to go out to Firefox here so you can see that. We used to have a border around it, but now we don't. Our entire table is borderless, nobody knows that there's a table there, but you'll notice our little inside table does still have it's borders on it. So you can have different formatting for tables inside tables. Let's go up to Table and Properties again, our cell padding and cell spacing. We could have a border color, we've got to put a thickness back on our border though, so we'll click apply, and we can have a background color. Apply that and we've got that in there. So very simple to add your border color and background color and any changes you want to make to your table here. Here's row and column, if you want your left to right horizontal alignment, whether you want it center right or left, your vertical alignment which is up and down, you can do top middle or bottom. We can change the background color of certain rows and columns. We can fit the contents to the column, or we can specify a certain width for every column. We can wrap the text so it just smoothes around, we can have a header row or no header row, and again on our row height, how high do we need the row? Do we want it to fit it to the contents, or do we want to say it's so many pixels? So I'll click OK here, here's our table. The next thing we want to look at are options up in here for all of our formatting and changing. Now the first thing I want to look at is our Formatting Toolbar. We have our styles, I could apply a heading one style to this, first row, I could also select the row remember, and apply it all at once. Maybe I want to change the font for that row, and maybe I want to change the size for all of these. And it does take it a little bit, it's got to apply those changes, and I could do the same down here for my little one and change those in there. Alright in the next movie we'll continue to look at those Formatting Options for your table.
