In this movie, let's talk about some more options you have with your pages in Contribute, let's first talk about Expiring Pages. Contribute can Publish a file to your website and then actually Delete it later on if you want it to so that page Expires. The other thing you can do is have it Publish and then have it Replaced with something else. To do that you simply go up to Edit-Administer Websites and Select the specific Website that you want to Set the Page Expiration in, go over to Page Expiry and check the box, that'll turn it on. Here's your options, have it expire on a certain date you can select that in the calendar, you can have it expire after so many days, notice it tells you that a default value of zero days will force the user to enter a valid value. I can have it replace the page with a certain file; I can have it delete the page in the website completely. Now if you're going to have it delete the page you need to make sure it doesn't have any links to it on another page. I could replace that page by simply choosing a file, once I open up my CS5 folder I've got different files there that I could replace it with if I wanted to, so then it puts it inside there. Then when you're done you just simply, Save that and then you simply just Publish your page, that's all there is to it. So take a minute, make yourself a note of what pages on your website you might want to have expire. Obviously things dealing with holidays have those expire on a certain date, if you're going to have a sales page have it simply expire and have it delete the page for you or flip it to the next week's sales, that way you don't have to actually be there at 12 o'clock in the middle the night and make those changes.
