In this movie, let's talk a little bit more about Copying a Page and then also how to Delete Pages that you're no longer needing. Now before we were in our website, and we went up to new and one of the options was to Copy the Current Page, now why would you do that? Well the reason you would choose a copy is A. your pages may not have a template and you need that same layout and that same look. Another reason might be because it's a unique page on your website and you just need a quick copy of it to match another page to this unique element on your site. And finally the other reason to make a copy of the current page is so if you make an error, you don't have to go do the rollback or something like that. I always make a copy of complex pages, I like the rollback option but that copy allows me to a month from now be able to go see now what exactly was on that page that somebody's talking about that they want to see again, it's always nice to have a little bit of history on some pages that you may need, you don't have to do it on all of them, but I do use that on some more complex, more informational heavy pages, that way I don't have to look things up over and over. I also make copies of pages that are done at certain times of the year, maybe a holiday certain pages are changed to reflect certain sales or something to that effect, so I do make copies of that so I can go back and see it from year-to-year and I don't have to completely start over and reinvent that page. So that is why you'd make a copy. I'll click OK down here, notice if you don't enter a title no matter what you're doing for a new page you have to do that. In our previous movies I've entered it, I wanted to show you that it will remind you. I've got my copy and what I could do is just go ahead and publish that, put it out there, but just never link it. I've got it on the server so I can refer to it anytime I want. The other thing I could do when I do make that copy is put it in a specific folder for copies or for backups or for holiday information so I can go see that at different times of the year. I could name the title something specific with the date so that I know that that is a copy of that for me to look at later on. So there's a lot of good reasons to use copies. I'm going to go ahead and Publish this, right here is where I'm talking about I could create a folder for that, I could just call it my Copies Folder and I can hit Publish and I'll click OK. Again it's just a file out there on the server, there's no link to it but I could always go open it if I need it. All I have to do is go to Choose if I want to get a hold of it and there it will be. OK, let's go out here to the Choose File this time and look at our options, notice right here we have our page, if we go up one level we have our folder, right here I can completely Delete that Folder. Let's try it, tells me I can't do it because that folder is not empty, I've got to delete that page within there first. Alright, let's go over to File and go down to Actions, as we go down here we're going to select Delete Page, are we sure we want to permanently delete this page, Yes we do, and it's gone. Let's go choose this one called Melanie's page and we'll go down to File we'll select Actions and Delete Page, verify that you want to get rid of it and it's gone. To tell if it's gone you can always just check that address bar, I can also go back here to Choose, Melanie's page is gone and in my Copies Folder remember that Melanie second page, it's gone also. So what I can do is go up, I've got Copy selected, Delete that Folder and it's gone also, I've cleaned it up. You want to make sure you keep these files cleaned up so it's easy for you to keep track of everything and know what's going on and what you need, it also of course makes it easier for users to navigate. Now of course when I deleted these things, I have permissions to do that. If for some reason you can't delete you have to talk to the administrator to set those permission in that user role. Now if I created a new page and I haven't ever published it, I don't have to have special permissions to delete that one. So basically you just have a draft on the computer and you discard the draft and you don't keep it. So you don't have to have special permissions if it's just a new page that only you have ever looked at or have had access to. So take a minute, make sure you can remember how a copy of page and then also go in there create some folders and then also put files in there then delete folders and delete files, make sure you can do that.
