In this movie, let's talk about Inserting Dates into your web page. It's very important to have dates a lot of times, so that people know current information. You could put the dates in there so you looks like your page is current, or the information is current. Maybe the product or service you sell, so that they know that is an item right now. If we go to Insert, Date, now our first option is how do we want the day to be, do we not even want that on there, do we want to have Thursday, spelled out completely, do we want the comma, do we not, depending on how we want that there. And then how do we want our date format to look, do we want it spelled out, do we want the slashes the dashes, you've got all kinds of options, and then whether or not you want the time on there. And of course you can update it automatically on save if you want to. We'll click OK, and there it is. Now again you don't necessarily have to have that on every page, but anything that is sensitive to current information that you want people to realize, that yes this is current, yes this is important information, and it has some effect on the date and time. If it doesn't, you don't need it in there. OK, let's go take a look at special characters. If we go up to Insert, and down to Special Characters, notice that there is a little arrow right here, that means we get a Submenu, and here are some of our options. A non breaking space, if we want that in there, so you could actually utilize that to make it work on the web, copyrights, trade marks, left quote, EM dash, let's put that in there. There's your EM dash, let's go up to Insert, try Special Characters again, this time let's try the Copyright. There's your copyright, because you might put the copyright at the bottom of the page, and you know put the business name or something like that. Let's go back to special characters again, and let's look at Other this time. And here's all kinds of special characters. Notice when I click on it, it puts the code in there that it needs to add that special character. If you're using different languages, sometimes these different letters you may need in there, the Sense sign definitely a good one to know that it's there, lot of times people will need that on there, and they cannot find how to put it in there. And again you've got different elements, different quotes, all kinds of options that you can use, registered, anything that you need. If you need the degrees on something, and there it is. Alright, so go on there and insert the date just so that you know how to do it, even if you aren't going to use it, just so that you remember where it's at later on, if you'd ever need it. And also take a look at this special characters because you never know when you might need them, and then you can find them easily at the point you may need them sometime in the future.
