The Contribute Workflow / Workflow pt. 2

Subtitles of the Movie

In this movie, let's continue looking at the Contribute workflow, the browsing element. Now, you can browse by just clicking around like you can on Internet Explorer and you can also go specifically into Contribute and make bookmarks. You can make favorites or bookmarks within any browser; Internet Explore, Fire Fox, but you can also make bookmarks within Contribute. So again, the reason Contribute becomes popular is people can edit pages in here and they can just use it to browse the internet if they want to. Let's go out to another website. Again, it's telling us we don't have a connection to that. It threw me out on the internet again, you'll notice, because they have an ad, so let's get back into Contribute. We're in Contribute here and now what we can do is actually bookmark this. Go up to bookmarks, add bookmark and we can simply leave their description or their name or I can type in what I want, click ok and now in my bookmark section I've got that. I also have other bookmarks. I've got bookmarks to blogs. I can click on blogs, select one of those and it actually will take me out to that website. I can also delete bookmarks. I can simply go up to delete bookmark, select the one I don't want anymore and delete it. Very simply. Another thing you can do with bookmarks is when you add one, you can actually create an area for it to go into, like blogs, I have these categorized. Let's go out there and type in Google. Let's say we just want a search engine added to our bookmarks list. Let's go to bookmarks, add bookmarks and this time let's create a new folder. Type in search engines there, select that folder, that's where you want it to go in, click ok and now when we go up to bookmarks, we've got a search engines area and we've started adding those in there. Bookmarks are an easy way to make this more usable for people. One other thing you're going to want to know within Contribute on the browsing element, you can click refresh here or you can go to view, refresh is an option there or you can just hit F5 on your keyboard. I just pressed F5 and it refreshed the page. If you go under view, you'll see some other items right here. The browser, the web address or the file. Or you can use the keyboard shortcuts. I can do control shift B and that will let me select my browser window, which I'm already in. I can do control D. That brings up the web address. I can actually type that in, hit my enter key for ok and I never have to press my mouse. It's just a shortcut key so you don't have to stop, pick up your mouse and make an extra step. Control D. Another option is control shift O. If you select that, that will take you into your website and then you can go in there and select the file that you want to edit. Control shift O. Those keyboard shortcuts are there just so that you don't have to stop and pick up your mouse. Ok, we've looked at the browsing element in Contribute, so now let's go on and look at a little bit more information on that Contribute workflow.
