FMR Panning & Image Slideshows / Create an Image Slideshow

Subtitles of the Movie

So far, all the projects we have created have been generated by capturing screen events using Captivate's Screen Capture Engine. However, this isn't the only way that you can create your projects as you can also create your projects from a series of existing static images. In this case I'll show you how to insert a series of classic car images, however, I want to stress that this feature can be used as a starting point for any project that uses static graphics. So, for example, if you were working for a software company and you wanted to check how usable your program was before even a single line of code was written then you could use this feature to build up a project from the various UI comps developed by your UI designer, then you could test out the various features by adding interactive objects such as Click Boxes, et cetera. So, to create a new project from a series of images start by choosing Image Slideshow. You could, of course, also choose File, New, Project. Notice, also, that Captivate shows all the different ways that you can create a project from scratch. In this case, I'm going to go with 800 by 600 as my selected size of the project and then to insert the images I'll just click the Browse button. All the images can be found within side the Chapter 3 Work Files folder and so what I'll do here is just start by selecting the first one, hold down the Shift key, select the last one to select the rest of them and then just click the Open button. Captivate now generates a new project and inserts each of the images on separate slides. Once completed the project has now opened in Edit View rather than the default Storyboard View. Lastly, I'll save the project into the Chapter 3 folder and I'll call it image slideshow.
