In this tutorial I will show you how you can test your SCORM package using SCORM Test Track from Rustici Software. In addition, I'll also show you how using the SCORM packager available in the Adobe e-learning suite, how you can package multiple SCOs into a single SCORM package. SCORM Test Track from Rustici Software is a completely free, online service and offers a great way of testing your SCORM packages before they are consumed by a learning management system. Now, before going any further, I want to stress that in many case SCORM is not plug and play so don't be surprised if when you try to load your COS into your learning management system that you don't experience some problems or that your LMS administrator ends up having to manually make changes to some of the SCORM files. Each LMS is different and each have their own issues. That said, here in Test Track to load a new SCORM package all I need to do is click Browse and now I can specify where I want to pull my file from and in this case we're going to use the zip file that's here in Chapter 17. Don't worry about it saying WinRa. That's just the application I used to compress. Now just click Open and now click Import. It will begin the process of uploading this course to Test Track. Once completed, I'm now taken to this new page and in here you can see that I've got lots of new information such as the course status. I've got the ability to update the course package. I can look at the logs and something called parcel warnings and down here at the bottom I can specify the course properties such as navigation controls, et cetera. I'll choose this option, Share Navigation Bar and I'll also choose the Show Progress Bar here. That's fine as well as the course structure. OK, so I'll just save that and then scroll back up to the top and now to launch the course I simply click the Launch course Button. OK, I've got a pop-up blocker occurring here so I'll just right click, allow pop-ups. And in a couple of seconds you can see that the Captivate project is now loaded. It's initializing the LMS and any minute now the training will begin. Again, this is another reason why having all your content in a single SWF file would be unrealistic. When working on the web, you do have to bear in mind that the training can take a little while to start being made available to your learners. OK, so here now is our course and I can just close that now by clicking on that one. So and you can see that at present we're not showing the menu which is fine. That'll just now go back to the page that you saw a moment ago. So that's how you can work with Test Track. It's a great application to take advantage of. Now, also, just to mention something else to you is if I click on this course that I've already loaded here and just click Launch course, when you've got multiple packages or multiple files in a single package I should say, then you can see that you get this lovely course structure. So let me show you now how you can actually create that and to do that I'm actually going to use the aggregator and but my aggregator is slightly enhanced because I have the Adobe e-learning suite. If I click on Aggregator Project here you can see that I get this option called Multiple Scope Project which I'll now select and click OK. Then what I need to do next is I need to specify the course manifest details so I'll choose 2004 here and in here now I would enter my course identifier which I'm going to call IE, call this one IE Training and that should be fine so I'll click OK and now what I need to do is I need to add my modules and you can see that the multiple scope project aggregator, or as it's technically called the SCORM packager looks very, very similar and you use it the same way as well for that matter. So if I click the Add Button here, just go up a level, go to our VTC Folder, Work Files and I've got three files here. That so I'll just add those. OK, so back here in the Chapter 17 Folder you can see that I've got three zipped files that I've already created so I'll just click Open on that and now what I need to do is I need to give the sharable content object a valid SCO so I'm going to change that to IE 1 like so, the course object title will, we'll just put IE 1 in here. Again, your LMS administrator can help you with this. Let's do the same here. IE 3, IE Training will be fine as a demonstration here. So you can now see that I've got my three files. Now at present I've got favorites at the top which I don't want. I want that to be up in the middle so I'm just going to click on the Move Module Down Button. I'll also move that one up to the top like so. OK, so now I've gotten my sharable content object packages ready to be published as a multiple scope project and to do that I simply click the Publish Button like that. You can see here that I can give the project title. I call this IE Training like so. Again, I'll save it to the Chapter 17 Folder. OK, OK, and publish it. OK, it's now created the SCORM package. OK, so here now back in the Test Track application I can just click Browse and then upload this file. So I'll just select that and click Open and now just upload it by clicking Import. It'll take a couple of minutes so I'll just pause the video at this point and then if I click on the Launch course Button, we now get the table of contents over here on the left-hand side.
