Have you ever been working on a project and saved a version of the file somewhere and accidentally saved it in the wrong folder and lost it, and had to go around digging for it for a while. Or have you ever been working on a project for a client and the client made several revisions. Revision after revision after revision. And finally the client says, "oh you know what, I actually like the first thing you did best," after all this heartache and effort, and it's been really difficult to go back to the original file the way that they wanted it. Well that's why we have Version Que CS2. Version Que is a file management application. It kind of regulates and controls different versions of files as we'll see. This here is the Version Que site on Adobe's website. If you want to copy this website address down to check this out. This is a really great resource in working with Version Que. Now it's a fairly new application. Version Que CS was the first version of it. And now we have Version Que CS2 so it's like the next generation. And it's still a very simple program. Again, these are the peripheral programs that we are covering here. So with Version Que CS2 you can manage your files. You can make sure that no matter what you name them that Version Que will track where it is and the different alternate versions that you have for that particular file. There's even some advanced Version Que features which we won't talk about here in this training. But I'm sure it will be mentioned on Adobe.com. But some very advanced Version Que features which allow you to lock certain people out of a file if you are going to put it on a server or something. Really advanced file management stuff. So let's get to talking about Version Que and how to set up a Version Que project which is the beginning of any Version Que work.
