Adobe Illustrator boasts the most powerful set of logo design tools that I have ever seen. It is an industry leading vector drawing program. And if you have been following along with this, as we've been going through Photoshop, you will love how similar Illustrator is to Photoshop. A lot of the same tools and concepts are repackaged and repurposed in Illustrator, but the concept is the same. We have a black and white arrow tool. We have a lasso. We have a magic wand. We have an eye dropper tool, a paint bucket, the hand, the zoom in tool, the slice tool, etc, etc. All things that we see inside of Photoshop. And, just like Photoshop, Illustrator does significantly more than just its intended purpose. We can use Illustrator to create complex data driven bars, charts and graphs. We could also use Illustrator to create Flash animations. We could even use Illustrator to create webpages. And again, just like Photoshop it has a brush engine that is extremely creative and powerful. Adobe Illustrator is where I go when I need to feel inspired. As an artist I often feel sometimes that I'm stuck in a rut and maybe I've been stressed out about other things. Maybe a doorknob broke in my house or something. And if I'm just not feeling artistic, I come to Illustrator. And it doesn't matter if I'm doing logo creation or not. I could be doing animation or video editing. And I still come to Illustrator to get creative. Its tools are that stimulating. And I hope as you go through Illustrator with me here that you'll feel some of that same stimulation as well - that your creative juices will get going. So lets move on and get into this amazing, creative, vector drawing program that is Adobe Illustrator.
