So that pretty much sums up Adobe Illustrator, but before we leave, I want to give you a couple tips about outputting your Illustrator files to print. Now I have here some text and there is a couple issues about printing text that you ought to be aware of. Now, when I send this file to my printer, you will notice that I'm using the nouveau standard font. If I send this file to my printer, and he does not have this font, it will not look correct. However, if I send the font along with my file, which is pretty standard, actually, in the industry, and so the printer installs the nouveau standard font to print this file, that is not legal. People that make fonts, don't like having their fonts passed around like that. They want you to buy a separate license for the printer and for the designer. So a pretty common work around is to select your text, go to the Type menu and select Create Outlines. What that does is it converts your text to just shapes. So if this were still text, we could edit it at any time. We could change the letters, we could change the tracking and letting and other text features. But now that these are outlines, Illustrator just sees them as points. As just basic shapes. It doesn't see letters at all. We couldn't change the font, we couldn't change the size of the text. We couldn't change any of those other features. But at the same time, we also don't have to worry about the legal issues with sending this font along and we also don't have to worry about any compatibility issues with the font. What you see is absolutely what you will get. So I really recommend doing this if you have legal problems and also if you want to guarantee that your font looks the same. Now, with your files all ready, you can go to the File menu, and then go to Print, which will launch the very advanced Print Dialogue box. And we are not going to go through all these sophisticated options here. But suffice it to say, we have kind of come up a notch since Photoshop. There are more advanced features when you print from Illustrator, then there are from Photoshop. And as we move up to InDesign, we will see even more advanced printing capabilities than we are seeing here in Illustrator. And actually, another little secret is that the most sophisticated printing capabilities in the Creative Suite are not in Illustrator or InDesign, they are actually in Acrobat, which mostly people use for document commenting and what not, but it actually has the most powerful arsenal of specific advanced professional print tools. So that is it for Illustrator, I hope you've really had a great time. I have definitely enjoyed explaining these wonderful creative tools to you. And now let's talk about Adobe InDesign. Putting this all together in Adobe's amazing industry standard page layout program.
