So here we are in Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional. And you are probably dieing to get in here and see what it's made of since I had to use it for some of the training. Now when you open up Acrobat you're greeted with this welcome screen which is becoming standard across Adobe applications giving you quick access to the major features of Acrobat. So you can just click it if you want to start a PDF, you can just click it right here from this welcome screen. Me personally, I'm not a big fan of welcome screens. They kind of get in my way, especially because all these buttons are now built right into the interface anyway. So you might want to hit this do not show start up button. For now I'm just going to close this and we're taken into Adobe Acrobat Professional 8. Now let's open up a recent PDF meeting here. Let's open up skew.pdf, one of the files that we used earlier. Again you'll notice that this navigation pane is completely different. So instead of having this pages tab here we now have built into the interface this little tiny icon here. It's much neater, much cleaner looking. And it's always retracted until we hit it and then it pops back out again, just much more sleek looking. It's a much more colorful interface as well. Another major improvement of Adobe Acrobat 8 is the inclusion of Adobe Bridge. You see Adobe Acrobat 7 came out before the Creative Suite was released. And it didn't support Bridge. Now the all familiar Bridge icon is right here built into the front of the interface in Acrobat. Notice as well that there is so much more room to view your documents here. I just love that. Another one of the great features is the ability to launch an Adobe Acrobat Connect Meeting right here from the interface of Acrobat. Now Acrobat Connect used to be called Breeze and it was a program that they purchased when they acquired Macromedia. So you might be familiar with Macromedia Breeze and then Adobe Breeze and then Adobe Acrobat Connect. And basically what that tool allows you to do is an extra service so if you don't have it signed up for this. If you haven't bought it then it won't work. But what it allows you to do is to get a phone number that many people can share. Everyone can call in to kind of conference call. And then you all log into the same website. And then you can share your desktop with one another. So basically it's great for having these digital meetings. It's really a phenomenal tool. And if you'd like to learn more about it go ahead and go to "get started with meetings" right here from this dropdown. And Acrobat also is just so helpful. Be aware as you go through these dropdowns now, that if you want to learn about security, if your looking for something, right at the bottom , "getting started with PDF security." If you want to learn about signing something, "getting started with digital signature." If you want to look at forums, "getting started with forums." So you have all these helps then if your not sure how to use something that there is access to a specific area of the help menu from right there. Now there is of course a lot more to Acrobat 8 then just these pretty buttons and the bigger interface and the few things that I have mentioned here. But again this is just a teaser of some of the things that are now available here in Acrobat 8. And that essentially concludes the major training portion of the training series. I have a few more things though that I want to get across before we close up shop here. So let's get to the final thoughts.
