Subtitles of the Movie
The good folks at Adobe provided After Effects users a whole bunch of templates that cannot only look at to get inspiration but you can also modify and make it your own, keeping all the animation and all that cool stuff intact. Let's go ahead and see how to do that right now. I'm going to go to the file menu and I would choose browse, template, projects, this will launch the Adobe bridge and with the bridge open you can choose to look at the template projects and when you click on it one time all you have to do is look over here in the preview to get a feel for what it looks like. And when you find one that you like, you simply double click on it, to open it within After Effects itself and as you can see there are quite a few of them and some of them are really cool like this one, it's kind of awesome, a lot of parenting going on there. So I'm going to choose intro and I'll double click on it, After Effects will ask me if I want to save the project I'm working on, I will say no for now and now this template is open and ready for me to work with. As you can see I can twirl down and see all the information that's in here and all the parts of this file. But the fun part comes in, taking it and reverse engineering it to make it your own. So I can double click where it says information and type my own word. So I just typed the virtual Training, I'll go ahead and deselect that by clicking here and I'm going to preview it. I'll hit the RAM preview, which is the zero on my keyboard and look how cool that is. It keeps the special effects, it keeps the animation, everything intact and you have to do is just manipulate, change the background, change the colors, move things around a little bit and make it your own. Really though what I recommend you do with the templates is learn from them. Look how they're arranged and look at the layers, see how their put together so that the animation comes together in a certain way. Experiment with it, slow it down, speed it up, change the colors, swap things in and out with your own graphics and slowly but surely you'll understand how the people at Adobe think when they're putting these things together, it can also help you in the future when you want to build your own custom compositions.
