OK, so as you saw adding Headers and Footers to your document is pretty straightforward. I mean we have kind of a, a complicated dialog box that we have to work with, but beyond that, it's pretty easy, I hope you find it pretty straightforward here anyway. But of course we have the situation where sometimes we'll need to edit the headers and or the footers that we've added onto our PDFs. So for example, I'm noticing here that my header is kind of crowding in on the chapter two text right there, and if I scroll down here, the date here on my, odd numbered pages is fine, but if I scroll down to the bottom of page two, of course, the date is no good on the even numbered pages, right. And here's another example too. We have, for example, this sort of this box here sitting on this page, and the text there Ten Ton Flash and Geoff Blake is running right into it, right. So there's some changes here that I want to make to my headers and footers. So here's what I'm going to do. Tools Panel on the right hand side, Pages Category, down to the Header and Footer Menu, and I'm going to choose the next option there, which is Update. Go ahead and choose Update, and the Update Command brings up the same dialog box that you and I saw in the previous exercise, but we're not going to be adding on a new header and footer. You can see here that this dialog box has populated with all of the content that we've already inserted, so we can now edit the content of our headers and footers if we want. Now what I'm going to do here is, well I'm going to make a couple of simple changes here I think. I'm going to get rid of the date I've decided, so I'm simply going to select it there, inside the left footer text box, and I'll just hit Delete on my keyboard to get rid of that there, and the other thing that I want to do, is I want to change the position of the, well what's left here, which is my headers here. So I want to change the position here, and I didn't mention this in the previous exercise, but you'll see here that we have some dotted blue lines, right. Which represent the margins or the spacing or maybe you could say the positioning, maybe that would be better to say, for the headers and the footers. And it's all controlled right up here in the top right corner, where we have margins and we're working in inches here. So for example I could take the top and I could increase the top value, but then if I look down in the preview area, you can see that, that pale blue dotted line there, has shifted down the page, and it's now running the text into the chapter two text for example. So now what I'm going to do is I'm going to try and reduce the top value. You could type in a value there I suppose if you wanted to, or you can use your up and down arrows there, to re-position the header margin, the header's top margin to be specific. You can do the same with the left. So the default for the left and for the right is one inch there, so I have a one inch margin for the header on the left and, right sides. Up to you, same with the bottom as well. So I've just made a very simple change, I've just reduced the top just by a little bit, that should do it for me. I also want to mention here quickly as well, that let's say for example you're in a situation where you are constantly adding in the same header and footer to a bunch of PDFs, right. And you're constantly getting sent new PDFs and you constantly have to add on new headers and footers, right. What we could do, is we could save our settings as a preset and then when we want to go and add on a new header and footer to a new PDF file, we can simply come into this dialog box and choose our saved setting from this saved settings drop down menu at the top there. So a faster way to work if you like. In any regard, I've made my changes here, I'm going to go ahead and click OK, and of course Acrobat does it's thing there, re-adjusts the header there, so now I have a bit of a gap, a space there, again on the top of page two there, if I scroll up to the top of page one, little bit more room there, between the, again the header and the content, which is great. And of course, the date is now gone from the footer. So updating, editing and updating your headers and footers. Pretty straightforward, pretty easy stuff. Again you got to work with this gargantuan dialog box though, so hopefully, all good.
