Subtitles of the Movie
In this chapter we're going to talk a little bit about plug-ins which are software add-ins to 3ds max, that extend or enhance Max's functionality. Most of them are developed by third parties. And in this chapter we're going to look at Discreet certified plug-ins, and these are plug-ins that Discreet has selected, usually because of their success in the market, and they’ve tested them and certified them, and they’ve also taken some steps such as, escrowing the source code to make sure that these plug-ins will always be available in future versions of Max. So let’s just look at a couple of these. This has to do with character animation, specifically making muscles and skins, rendering, cartooning, particle effects, creating scenery, character animation and texturing. So those are the Discreet certified plug-ins and you can get more information on the website, www.discreet.com/dcp. on the website, www.discreet.com/dcp. 01:04.0] I have got two renditions, I can edit the rendition, I’m going to call this one rendition 2 so I can differentiate them. You could give it any name you wanted, and under playback controls I am going to disable show playback controls. And for playback location, I am going to choose full screen to show you how this works. And I could also choose floating window and for floating window I could choose show the titlebar, show control for closing window, title text and so on. And again, your intended audience would have to have their trust manager set up, for this type of document. And for system requirements, not for this type of document, we’re allowing the player to take over control, it’s actually the document to control. Now what I am going to do, I can, for system requirements, choose a different download speed, screen color, or screen resolution. And in this case I am going to choose 800 by 600, and remember our playback location is full screen. Now first, before this will play at full screen, I have got to edit our first rendition, and notice I can also change the order of the renditions with these arrow buttons. But in this case I am going to edit the original rendition, I want this to be the first rendition. But I am going to edit this, and for the system requirements, I am going to choose a higher screen resolution than I am already running, 1152 by 864, because right now I am accessing the file with an 800 by 600 resolution. I am going to show this now at full screen, first I am going to select my hand tool, to show this at full screen. Now when I click this image file, it plays it full screen, because I have chosen 800 by 600. Okay, now that my video has stopped playing, I am going to go back and edit the rendition one more time, so I’ll select my media, and right click on a Windows machine or control click on a Macintosh, and choose properties, then I will select the rendition I want to edit, and choose edit rendition, and I am going to change the playback location. Actually the playback settings, no I do not want to show the player controls, I am going to change the playback location. And I am going to choose floating window. Now notice I can show a title bar, and I can show a control for closing window, and this would be an x that I could use to close the window which you will see in just a second, and I can choose to not allow the user to resize the window, or allow the user to resize the window, but maintain the original aspect ratio, and this is recommended because this won’t distort the size of the movie, or allow the user to freely resize the movie. In this case I am going to stick with the default, and there is my window position, I can choose where the window will appear, the floating window, and I could choose what it is relative to. And I can also change the width and the height of my movie. And if the window is off screen, I could choose not to play it anywhere with the window on screen. And again, your user would have to have their trust set up to where the document would take control of the media player. So let me just select the hand tool, now one more thing I would like to show you in here. Right click on this again, or control click on a Macintosh machine, I am going to edit my rendition, and I am going to, playback location, I am going to add tile text. I will select the hand tool, go to full screen mode, and there is our video playing in a different window with the title bar. Now when you play these lessons back you will see a little bit of pixelation. And that is because of the capture requirements to play this back on your computer at the smallest possible file size, but when you create this in Acrobat yourself, and they playback, they will be crystal clear and you will have excellent resolution.
