With my one web page that I captured and created this PDF document, I want to show you some of the options we have under the tools menu>Web Capture. The first one is open web page and that's exactly the same as going to file menu, open web page - brings up that familiar dialog box asking you to type in a URL and how many levels down you want Acrobat to capture that web page or website. Append web page, if you choose, that will bring up essentially the same open web page dialog box and append it with however many levels you choose. So of course Append web page will add more pages to your currently open PDF document, whereas open web page will create a new PDF document. Append all links on page will look at all the web links on your current PDF document, and before I choose that option I want to show you another one called view web links; you might choose this first - if you choose view web links, it brings up this dialog box showing you all the links on this web page and you can see that there are quite a few. In this way you can customize how you want Acrobat to append only certain links, for instance I could just click on the products link here and then click download. Another option we have is to click on the properties button and from here we can also choose some other options - such as how many levels down from products we want to append, and essentially maybe change some of the basic options for that particular link. So instead of append all links, I usually choose view web links and then hand pick the ones I want. So I selected two links from this list; now I am going to click download and since I am hooked up to the Internet, Acrobat will go find those other pages which I selected from the web links list and append them to my currently open PDF document. And I can see that it did in fact add these other web pages. You might choose refresh pages if you have added the feature enabling refresh pages when you first downloaded a page. This only works if you have added that feature. If you click refresh it will compare your currently downloaded web page as a PDF file with what is available with that same URL on that website, and if there are any changes, it will refresh and overwrite your current PDF page with the content that is currently posted on the website. Lastly another option we have under the Web Capture menu item under tools is, page info. And what it does it brings up this informational box telling me what the URL is, what the title is, when my PDF page was created and other such things such as the content type. Last option we have under Web Capture is open page in browser, so it will look at the URL, and switch to a web browser and open the exact same page in a web browser. ge in browser, so it will look at the URL, and switch to a web browser and open the exact same page in a web browser.
