If you need to distribute a document electronically where security is very important, Acrobat 5 can help you there. First thing I want to talk about briefly is, making sure that you have a list of trusted certificates, so you would email the people that you want to get their certificates and add to your list of trusted certificates. So you can see currently signed in as myself I have two people on my list of trusted certificates. Let's say that this is the document that I only want those two people to see. I go to file menu and choose document security, and for security options go all the way down to Acrobat self-sign security, and you can see it pops up this list asking me who I would like to add to my list of recipients that I have their security certificates. So I am going to click add for John Johnson and click on Jane Joplin and add. If we wish, we could add particular security features for each individual; so I could click on John Johnson's name and click user access, and user permission and give him specific permissions. Also notice that my name is already added to the top of the list, because your name is always added if you are logged in as a trusted certificate. Now when I save this document and transmit it to somebody, they will have to have the certificate in mind in order to see it. So only Jane Joplin and John Johnson will be able to look at this particular document. So that's another powerful way of using the security features in Acrobat. y of using the security features in Acrobat.
