Adobe Acrobat 5 Tutorials

Interface / Navigating Pages

Subtitles of the Movie

Well how do you navigate around your Acrobat document - as I mentioned earlier this Acrobat document, the stereovue document has 19 pages in it and I can see that from looking at this small informational box at the bottom of interface here, it tells me that currently I am on the page 1 of 19. As you might suspect there are several tools we can use to navigate but if you don't want to use tools for some strange reason you can always go up to the document menu and navigate by choosing menu pull down options such as next page, and notice that this particular option has a keyboard equipment, which is the right arrow, and the previous page a has keyboard equipment, which is the left arrow. Some of the navigational tools are found right here and notice that what we have are the right arrow and the right arrow with a line next to it. So this is next page if we click on it we would go the next page document and this one is last page. We will go all the way to the end of my document. Conversely this tool is the first page: it will take me all the way to the first page of the document if you click on it. So we can navigate through an Acrobat document by clicking on the next page button taking us to the next page in our Acrobat document. Another way to navigate through pages is to simply type in a value in this informational box: just click in that box to select it, just type in a page. So currently we're in page 3 of 19. I will just type in 15 and hit the return key and you can see that Acrobat immediately jumps to page 15 of this document. Well I did that for couple of reasons: one is to show you how to go directly to a page if you need to and another reason I did that was to talk about this next set of buttons. These two buttons a very much like the buttons you will find on a browser for the previous page or the last page you viewed. So with this if I click on this it will go back to the last page I looked at, not necessarily the page before it - i.e., page 14. So this will take me back to page 3 if I click on this. So this way you can follow the path that you've progressed in Acrobat by using the previous page and its associated button right here, and if I click on that I will go back to page 15. Notice at the bottom of my interface here I have the exact same buttons available to me as these buttons right here. So this is just another way of navigating by clicking on these buttons and they are exactly the same as the buttons right here as I mentioned. This is a remainder I can always navigate by clicking and dragging on the scroll handle bar here and dragging it up or down will give me a little informational window popping up telling me what page I would go to if I let go, at this point. So right now if I go to page 9 of this 19 pages document. So there's yet another way of navigating around your Acrobat document. Also, I also want to let you know that the page up and page down buttons work very well in Acrobat. In this sense it's scrolling down to the bottom of the page so I, if I hit page down again I'll actually go to the next page So you can see there are several different ways to get around the different pages in your Acrobat document. Generally the easiest way is to click on of one these tools, Of course you can always go to one of the menu options at the top of your document here and choose from one of the menu items available to you. s go to one of the menu options at the top of your document here and choose from one of the menu items available to you.
