Getting Started / Installing Zend Studio for Eclipse

Subtitles of the Movie

In this video we're going to be downloading Zend Studio for Eclipse. To get started bring up your web browser and navigate to zend Ð z-e-n-d Ð.com. Once you're there, mouse over the Downloads Menu item and click the Downloads link beneath it. On the resulting page scroll down about half way and you'll see a link called Try next to Zend Studio for Eclipse. Click that link now. Next, select Studio for Eclipse from the group of radio buttons, then choose the package for your platform. Click Download and you'll be prompted to sign in. If you don't have a Zend account you can create one using the Create a Zend account link near the bottom. Once the page loads you'll be prompted with an automatic download. Save the files somewhere convenient that you'll remember. Once the download is complete open the Zip file. Inside the Zip file there's only one application, which is the Zend Studio for Eclipse installer. Extract all the files to somewhere that's also convenient that you'll remember. Once the file's extracted, open the Installer. When the Installer opens to the Introduction page, click Next to continue. Accept the License Agreement and click Next. You can choose the Install Set you want to use here. Zend Studio, the first item, is required and you can also choose to install Toolbars for the different browsers, Firefox and the Internet Explorer. I'm going to leave the default program location here. In this case we're using Vista 64, so it's going to be in Program Files, x86. If you're using a 32-bit version of Windows it'll be just in Program Files. I'm also going to leave all of these associations selected because we'll be using Zend Studio for Eclipse to edit them. If you have another editor you'd rather use for any of these, deselect them here. On the Pre-Install Summary page, make sure everything is correct and click Install to begin the actual installation. When the installation is finished you'll see this screen. Deselect the Launch Zend Studio checkbox and click Done.
