Hello and welcome to this VTC MasterClass! focused on Adobe's Dreamweaver. Now, I will be using Dreamweaver CS4 throughout this MasterClass! but the examples offered can be used with practically any previous version of the program. The aim of this MasterClass! is to help you create a better workflow using various third-party plug-ins; some commercial and some freeware but all easily available for download on the net. Now, as a Dreamweaver user, you know the program comes complete with many tools to help create outstanding design. However, when time is against you and you need to meet a deadline, it's often more practical and efficient to use a third-party plug-in to enhance the look of your website design and achieve elegant results. So this VTC MasterClass! Dreamweaver CS4: A Better Workflow Using Plug-Ins is primarily aimed at real-world designers rather than coders. Now, if you've used Dreamweaver for any length of time, you'll probably be aware that Adobe calls third-party plug-ins extensions and has developed an integrated, efficient and streamlined method for installing them. Adobe calls this system the Extension Manager and it can be accessed within Dreamweaver itself or it can run this small program in isolation if you prefer. I'll show you how to install extensions in more detail in another movie. For now, let me show you how to access extensions without opening Dreamweaver. Simply go to Adobe's website, www.Adobe.com or .Co.UK if you're in Britain like myself. Click on Downloads, then navigate to Exchange Stroke Marketplace. You'll discover thousands of extensions here for all Adobe products. Notice that Adobe presents you with the latest and greatest here. We'll click on Dreamweaver for obvious reasons, Ironically, seeing as we're trying to use extensions for Dreamweaver efficiency, if you're anything like me you'll happily spend hours browsing through what's on offer and rather wonderfully, the exchange is constantly updated. Some of the extensions which I'll be showing you in other movies unusually don't appear on the Adobe Exchange but I'll provide you with a link to the website so that you can get these extensions in another movie. So hopefully this movie has given you an idea how third-party plug-ins, or as Adobe calls them, extensions can help your efficiency whilst you use Dreamweaver to create websites either for yourself or for clients. If, like me, when you are creating websites for clients, they want things done pretty quickly and to your rescue come extensions.
